Dancing Bear Toys and Gifts is a family-owned and operated specialty toy store. At our store, you’ll find high-quality, unique playthings from around the world, as well as children’s music, instruments, and books by Maryland authors and illustrators. We focus on “low-tech” specialty toys that promote family time, creative play, and fun learning and encourage children to use their imagination.
We opened our first store in September 2000 at 200A North Market Street and three years later relocated to 12 North Market Street. Since then, Dancing Bear has evolved into a popular shopping destination for many locals and out-of-towners. Our store has been featured in Washingtonian Magazine’s Best of Washington issue and also recognized as one of the top specialty stores in Frederick Magazine’s Best of Frederick issue.
We consider ourselves truly blessed to be able to do what we love—and have so much fun doing it! Each month, Dancing Bear shares a percentage of its profits with charities that benefit children in need. To learn more about the charities we support, click here.
